This page explains how to delete your account in Read-flow, the reading and writing application published by Read-flow, and exactly what happens to your data when you do.
Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your Read-flow account does not cancel a subscription held by Google Play. If you skip this step, Google will continue to charge you.
Cancel at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions before continuing.
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.
If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, write to us and we will delete the account for you.
Send the message from the email address the account is registered to, and write Account deletion request in the subject line. If you write from a different address we will need to confirm your identity before we can act, which takes longer.
We act on the request without delay and within 30 days of receiving it. We will confirm by email when it is done.
Everything you wrote and everything Read-flow generated for you: your notes, manuscripts, documents, characters, places, concepts, timelines, relationships, library, reading progress, preferences, subscription record, usage records, the searchable index of your material, and every outline, analysis, synthesis, essay, dossier and theme page created for you.
Your sign-in record is deleted at the same time. On the device you delete the account from, the contents of the encrypted local database are deleted.
Deletion is irreversible. If you want a copy of your work, export each book from inside the app before you delete, or write to us for a complete copy of your personal data first.
A small amount of data outlives the account. We would rather list it than let you discover it later.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Messages you sent support, and any reason you gave for deleting | So a record of your request and how we handled it exists | 24 months |
| Security event records, including IP address | Security and abuse investigation | 12 months |
| Records of accounting adjustments to a subscription | Audit. Contains identifiers and amounts, no content | Indefinitely |
| Reports you made about AI-generated content | Moderation | 90 days |
| Short-lived operational records | Preventing duplicate processing | 10 minutes to 90 days |
| Your purchase record with Google Play and RevenueCat | Held by them, not by us | Their policies apply |
Books and genres you created stay in the shared catalogue with your identity removed from them. They are no longer personal data.
Section 11 of the Privacy Policy sets all of this out in full, including what remains on your own device after deletion.
Write to support@read-flow.app and we will answer.
